WELCOME TO THE SECOND ANNUAL
Younglife Fashion Show!
As a local business owner, I feel that it is imporant to give back to our community. This was the second year that I sat on the planning committee for the Younglife Fashion Show. Last year was the very first year we put it on and it was a HIT, so we had to keep this new tradition going. What makes this fashion show unique is the models.
You see Younglife is an organization of adult leaders and mentors that meet kids where they are at. Meaning, these caring adults take time out of their busy schedules to show up at soccer games, concerts, graduations, have them over to their homes, answer hard questions, take kids to club and most excitingly take them to camp in the summer. Younglife is different because they lead by example and build relationships with the kids in our community.
I can speak from a parents perspective with how much having these caring adults has meant to my family and I. My daughter Lehana was able to be paired with a mentor, attends club and meets with leaders on a regular basis to check in. It’s nice for her to be able to have an unbiased perspective, one that sees her specific situation from the outside looking in. I feel so incredibly blessed to have this organization as a resource for my daughter and seeing how much she has blossomed and truly come out of her shell has been awesome to watch.
This fashion show is such an incredible experience for the models because the models ARE THE KIDS partnered with mentors and leaders. What makes it even extra special is having all local boutiques and vendors coming together from the outfits to the accessories a true grassroots fashion show that you definitely don’t want to miss next year! Younglife is 100% a party with a purpose and you should totally be there next time!
